The main purpose of Fi Onna’s journey to Paris is to attend the fashion show at Masque Grand Magasin. Having arrived a few days prior at Charles de Gaulle airport where she was collected and driven to Hotel La Muette – she has experienced a whirlwind romance. Louis has swept her off her feet. He took her to see some of the sights of Paris, and also to Belle Lune night club. They have dined out several times at Au Bord de la Mer restaurant which is the hotel’s restaurant.
They attend the fashion show together. The audience is quite small, and among them is Columbe, Louis’s wife. The couple are going through an amicable divorce and Louis has told Columbe about his new girlfriend. He hasn’t mentioned that one of the models for the fashion show – Malvina Doree – was a one night stand he had some time ago. Malvina, by coincidence – was at Belle Lune night club with her friend Stella (in the audience for the fashion show tonight). He’s rather ashamed that he never called Malvina as he had promised to. And their paths didn’t cross again until the night he took Fi to the night club. The fashion show might be a bit embarassing for Louis – he hopes that Malvina won’t make a thing of his past misbehaviour. Young people don’t always treat each other well. He knows that his dalliances have played a part in his break up from Columbe.
The seven models come from Norway (Ida); London (the non-binary dancer/ model Gianna Delano- Franklin); the glamorous American model Patti Rubis (whose young son Eddie is in the audience); Malvina Doree – as mentioned; Suzy Dupont; Tennessee ; and the youngest model Blanche. The designer Alain D’Argiles is showing his collection in 4 sections “Les Pinks” / “Les Blues” / “Les Reds” & “Les Golds”. Alain sits among the audience, with his little dog. Suzy’s boyfriend – Flic le Flic, who works at the airport and surprised Fi by frisking her on arrival at Charles de Gaulle – sits near Alain. Also in the audience is Roberto Soluomo – a well known American Italian dancer choreographer.
The fashion show is hosted by Silvy Raymonde. Music for the different sections varies from Josephine Baker and for “Les Pinks” / “Music for the Eyes – Masques & Fancies by Concerto Scirocco and “Paris Sera Toujours Paris, by Zaz.

Fi is amazed at the creativity and splendour of the fashion show. She came to Paris hoping that it would give her ideas for holding a fashion show at Fitz Dolz. But now this is no longer in her thinking – as she’s falling in love with Louis. Dare she imagine that her life is going to change dramatically and quickly. Fi Onna is going to become a very sophisticated woman.

Blanche was already nervous about being the last one to model in this section. Then when she put the pink outfit on in the dressing room, the split in the fabric was obvious – a great gaping hole over her derriere! She hopes that Malvina’s sewing will hold out well but decides to move cautiously. No bending or posing – she’s just going to stay quite upright. Hopefully the audience will just think that the dress was designed to be rather provocative. Blanche wonders why the pink dress is included in “Les Reds” collection anyway. But she’s not paid to ask questions – she’s just a model after all.
